Before EggFlow, CORBEL EARL managed most of its egg production on loose sheets and scattered Excel files. Every day, production, grading, and delivery data was recorded by hand, with all the risks of errors and information loss that implies.
The priority was not to "digitize the farm" in some vague sense. Two things had to become reliable first because mistakes there are expensive: traceability and invoicing. With EggFlow, from egg reception at the henhouses to client invoicing, every pallet is tracked, every delivery documented, every invoice calculated automatically. The software generates professional PDFs with QR codes, allowing clients to access their documents without even needing an account.
Context before the project
CORBEL EARL, a farm specialized in egg production, faced growing operational challenges due to the lack of suitable digital tools.
Every day, production sheets were filled out by hand: quantities by grade (S, M, L, XL), packaging types, laying and grading dates. This data, scattered across loose sheets and Excel spreadsheets, made any overview of the business impossible.
Invoicing was a constant headache. With different pricing grids per client (grading price, weight-based, or service-based), manual invoice calculations were a source of errors and considerable time loss. Multiple VAT rates (5.5%, 10%, 20%) added another layer of complexity.
Shipping documents were written manually, with no link to production sheets. In case of disputes or health inspections, reconstructing a batch's traceability required digging through piles of paper documents.
Project objectives
The first useful version had to cover the core workflow without burying users under unnecessary screens. CORBEL EARL needed a tool capable of:
- Centralizing production management by replacing loose sheets with structured digital records and pallet tracking.
- Automating invoicing by integrating per-client pricing grids, VAT calculations, and professional document generation.
- Ensuring complete traceability for every batch, from laying to delivery, to meet regulatory requirements.
- Simplifying deliveries with automatically generated shipping documents linked to production sheets.
- Providing secure external access allowing clients to view their invoices and documents without a user account.
The implemented solution
EggFlow was designed from scratch around the specificities of the egg industry. The guiding principle is simple: no feature should contradict traceability. If an action exists in the software, it must leave a clear, useful trace for later.
Production management
- Digital production sheets with tracking of laying, grading, and delivery dates
- Granular pallet tracking : grade (S, M, L, XL, TC, FC, TV), category (A, B), packaging type, and quantities
- Integrated photo documentation for each production sheet and pallet
- Auto-generated unique references for instant batch identification
Shipping and deliveries
- Automated shipping documents directly linked to production sheets
- Multi-carrier management with tracking of alveolus types, spacers, and pallets
- Real-time updates through a reactive architecture synchronizing all workstations
Invoicing and accounting
- Automatic price calculation based on per-client pricing grids (grading, service, weight)
- Multi-VAT management with automatic rate application by service type
- Complete lifecycle : draft, ready, paid, overdue, cancelled
- Standard and custom invoices to handle every scenario
Professional documents
- PDF generation with QR codes for invoices, production sheets, and shipping documents
- Secure external access via signed URLs allowing clients to view their documents without authentication
- Complete auditable history through a change log across all data
Results achieved
What EggFlow delivers
Batch found
every pallet tracked from laying to delivery, without digging through paper
Correct invoice
client pricing grids, VAT rates, and services calculated automatically
PDF + QR
Invoices and shipping documents clients can view without an account
Real-time
Multi-workstation synchronization for teams
The implementation of EggFlow changed daily operations at CORBEL EARL. Production sheets, once scattered across loose papers, are now centralized and accessible in a few clicks.
Invoicing, a permanent source of stress, has become a reliable and automated process. Per-client pricing grids are applied automatically, VAT calculations are accurate every time, and documents are generated instantly as professional PDFs.
Traceability, once nearly impossible to reconstruct, is now natively integrated into every operation. Each pallet is tracked from reception to delivery, and QR codes on documents allow instant verification.
The real-time architecture allows multiple operators to work simultaneously without conflicts, with changes propagating instantly across all connected workstations.
Evolution and roadmap
EggFlow continues to evolve to support CORBEL EARL's growth. Next steps deliberately stay tied to the main business flow:
- Advanced stock management : real-time stock level tracking by grade and packaging type
- Enhanced analytics dashboard : rolling period production statistics and volume forecasting
- Accounting integration : automated export of entries to the accounting software
This approach avoids the classic business software trap: becoming more complete while becoming less usable. Additions must help production, traceability, or invoicing. The rest can wait.
Conclusion
EggFlow shows what custom business software can bring to a very specific trade: replace paper and scattered files with a reliable, understandable flow adapted to the field. The point was not to add a digital layer to look modern. The point was to know, without ambiguity, where a batch comes from, where it goes, and how much it should be invoiced.
For CORBEL EARL, the gain is concrete: less re-entry, less stress when invoicing, and immediate visibility over activity. This is the kind of software I aim to build: little noise, few useless buttons, but the right business reflexes built in from the start.
